Center-Based ABA Therapy

Center-Based ABA Therapy

One-on-one ABA in a space set up just for learning, play, and connection. Every session is led by a trained therapist and overseen by a BCBA who knows your child’s plan inside and out. It’s a good fit for kids who do well with a steady routine, fewer distractions, and a set place to come back to each visit.

Who It’s Best For

Center-based care tends to work best when a child needs more structure than a home setting can offer, or when practicing around other kids is part of the goal. It’s a good fit when the child:

  • Does well with a steady, distraction-free space built for learning
  • Needs more structured support to work toward specific goals
  • Would benefit from practicing social skills alongside other children
  • Is getting ready for school or a classroom setting
  • Has struggled to make progress with therapy delivered only at home

Skills Developed

Skills DevelopedEvery plan is built around your child, but most families see progress across these core areas:

Communication

From first words and gestures to full conversations, depending on where your child is starting.

Social skills

Sharing, taking turns, playing alongside other kids, and picking up on social cues.

Daily living

Getting dressed, washing hands, and following a simple routine on their own.

Emotional regulation

Recognizing big feelings and learning ways to calm down or ask for help.

School readiness

Sitting through group activities, following multi-step instructions, and handling transitions.

How Getting Started Works

Most families go from first call to first session in a couple of weeks, and we handle the insurance side for you so you’re not chasing paperwork.

  • Consultation: We talk through your child’s needs and your goals, and help you decide if center-based care is a good fit.
  • Insurance check: Based on your area, we verify your coverage and sort out the preauthorization with your plan, so you know what’s covered before the first visit. Medicaid and most major plans cover ABA.
  • BCBA assessment: Your child’s BCBA builds a plan around their goals, and we get your sessions on the schedule.

Family and Parent Involvement

With our parent-guided approach, you’re part of the plan, not just waiting in the lobby. We build in what you can reinforce at home and keep you close to your child’s progress the whole way.

‍

Coaching for you: Hands-on parent training with your child’s BCBA, so the strategies that work at the center work at home too.

A recap after every visit: The wins, the tricky moments, and what’s coming next, so you always know where things stand.

Skills that travel: What your child learns at the center is built to show up at the dinner table, the playground, and everywhere in between.

What is center-based ABA therapy?
It’s one-on-one ABA in a space set up for learning, with the same room, people, and routine each visit. A BCBA oversees your child’s plan and therapists work with them day to day.
How is it different from home-based ABA?
Center-based happens in a dedicated space built for therapy, with room to practice around other kids. Home-based happens in your child’s own space, around daily family routines. Many families start with one and adjust as they go.
What qualifications should I look for in an ABA center?
Look for a center where a licensed BCBA oversees every child’s plan, therapists are trained and supervised, and progress is tracked and shared with you regularly. At our centers, every plan is built and reviewed by a BCBA.
How often would my child attend?
It depends on your child’s needs and the plan their BCBA sets. Most families attend several sessions a week, and your team walks you through the schedule during intake.
Is there a waiting list?
We work to get children started as quickly as possible. If a spot isn’t open right away, our intake team will let you know your options and keep you posted as space opens up.
